I offer individual psychotherapy to adults in California who are impacted by:

  • PTSD and trauma
  • Healing from childhood abuse, sexual abuse, and religious abuse
  • Depression, Anxiety, and Panic Attacks
  • Identity exploration
  • Personal empowerment
  • LGBTQ+ issues
  • Living with HIV and other complex health issues
  • Non-conforming lifestyles
  • Chaotic substance use
  • Relationship strengthening with yourself and others

We’ll lean on the following well-researched psychotherapy methods:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This therapy is endorsed by The V.A. (The Veterans Administration) to treat PTSD. This is a great method to help quickly and safely heal from experiences that contribute to Complex Trauma (Complex PTSD), Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Chaotic Substance Use, and Depression. EMDR can resolve flashbacks, intrusive memories, and the emotional suffering caused by disturbing life events. Let’s find true healing from the past so you can do life in the here-and-now.

CBT and MBCT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy). This therapy helps us see how our thought systems spark our emotions and behavioral reactions. When we take time and space to clearly see what our mind and emotional systems are telling us, we can change our responses to better align with how we want to show up in the world. With this therapy, you’ll develop a more powerful and compassionate connection to others and yourself. You’ll get to cultivate self-awareness and emotional intelligence while getting untangled from unhelpful automatic reactions.

Somatic Experiencing. Your body and physiology give you tons of information about your emotions and experiences. Our dominant culture tells us to ignore or stifle the information held in our bodies. This only serves to keep us on a hamster wheel of unhelpful patterns. You’ll explore safe ways to tune into your body so you can better respond to real-time experiences.

IFS (Internal Family Systems). The wounded and protective parts of us are often overworking to keep everything in alignment. These parts may be saying “let’s find a different way of being in harmony”. This therapy offers ways to explore your relationship with yourself while increasing confidence, calm, compassion, courage, creativity, clarity, curiosity, and connectedness.
